BLEDDYN'S CHRISTMAS HAMPERS

BLEDDYN'S CHRISTMAS HAMPERS

10 year old Bleddyn is creating hampers to gift to residents in Preston this Christmas

When 10 year old Bleddyn contacted Key Unlocking Futures to ask if he could create a fundraising project putting together hampers for residents living in supported housing, how could they possibly refuse.

Bleddyn from Preston is home-schooled by his mother Faye and his father Matt works for Key Unlocking Futures.  They said, ‘he really enjoys giving to others, especially at Christmas because he wants everyone to enjoy Christmas with special treats. It was Bleddyn’s idea of creating special Christmas hampers.  We decided we would make it into a little topic for him, which would include research, drafting and writing letter/emails, communication, managing money and craft’.

Bleddyn has already started contacting the local community and local businesses to ask for small donations of chocolates, sweets, toiletries and gift sets.  The response has been tremendous already and as a thank you Bleddyn has been publicly thanking and sharing details of those generous organisations on his newly created Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/BleddynsHampers/

Jayne Allison, Business Development Manager for Key said, ‘we are delighted that Bleddyn wanted to do this for the residents we support.  For many, it might be the only gift they receive this Christmas.  We’d like to thank Bleddyn, his parents and the local area for getting behind this fantastic project.

If anyone would like to donate to this initiative you can contact Bleddyn’s parents via Facebook.
