Before coming to Key I had been excluded from school and had to go to a school for children who are disruptive.

It made me feel like my world had ended, I had just been sticking up for myself when I had been bullied for so long. I felt like I couldn’t be bothered with anything anymore.

My counsellor was interested in me and my interests and how I see the world. I started to realise that my interests made me happy and that maybe there could be a job that related to these in the future. This gave me a new motivation and for the first time, I wanted to pass some GCSE’s so I could study at college. The sessions helped me to think clearly and it was nice to talk to someone without them telling you what you should choose or what the best option is. My counsellor really got me.
